Renowned for its graceful architecture, from lovingly maintained private homes to stately public buildings, Bellefonte proudly maintains its ties to the past with such popular annual events as the community-wide Victorian Christmas celebration.
Bellefonte is also proud to be an intregal part of Penn State history. When John Dunlop arrived in the Bellefonte area in 1794, in conjunction with his iron works he brought with him many prominent attorneys, future judges and governors of Pennsylvania. These men and their successors were paramount to the founding of the Farmers High School which became Penn State University. Come experience Victorian Bellefonte, a treasure from the past, in the heart of Penn State Country.
Thanks in part to the easy establishment of the national historic district, Bellefonte continues to preserve the past while welcoming the future.
